ABOUT DEMOGRAPHIA AUSTRALIA

Demographia Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to improve housing affordability in Australia. It advocates policies based on factual urban-planning principles.

As part of its advocacy role, Demographia Australia disseminates the research and findings of Demographia - the international housing affordability think tank and urban development advocacy organisation, founded by US (St Louis) academic and urban planner, Wendell Cox, more than 12 years ago.

Demographia's housing affordability research includes the respected  Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey. The Housing Affordability Survey has been published since 2005 and highlights the housing affordability consequences of inflationary distortions of our residential property markets.

The Housing Affodability Survey is  co-authored by Wendell Cox and Hugh Pavletich (of Performance Urban Planning).

Hugh Pavletich is a New Zealand (Christchurch) former property developer, a former fellow of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (FDIA) and a widely publicised New Zealand property commentator. He operates the archival website Performance Urban Planning and is the Managing Director of Pavletich Properties Ltd, a commercial property development and investment company.

Demographia Australia’s spokesman is Wayne Matthew, a former South Australian Cabinet Minister, who has undertaken work for the housing and development industries and is an advocate of improved housing affordability.
